Calera, founded in 1975 by Josh Jensen and now part of the Duckhorn Portfolio, produces distinctive Pinot Noir from 85 acres of high-elevation vineyards (2,200-2,500 feet) on limestone-rich soils in California's Mt. Harlan AVA. The winery pioneered Burgundian-inspired Pinot Noir in California through its gravity-flow facility, minimal-intervention approach, and six single-vineyard bottlings that demonstrate remarkable structure, minerality, and aging potential.
