Barone Ricasoli is one of Chianti's historic estates, credited with defining the Chianti Classico blend. Their wines, especially the Castello di Brolio, are benchmarks for the region's Sangiovese.

Barone Ricasoli, Italy's oldest continuously operating winery dating to 1141, encompasses 1,200 hectares in Gaiole in Chianti with 240 hectares of predominantly Sangiovese vineyards planted across diverse soils of galestro, alberese, and sandstone at 250-500 meters elevation. Under 32nd Baron Francesco Ricasoli's leadership, the estate honors its historical influence on Chianti Classico's development while advancing viticultural research through an experimental vineyard studying 19 Sangiovese biotypes and implementing precision viticulture techniques that balance tradition with modern innovation.
