Schloss Johannisberg, a historic estate in Germany's Rheingau region, is credited with producing some of the first Riesling wines and continues to be a standard-bearer for the grape with wines known for their precision and aging potential.

Schloss Johannisberg, the world's first dedicated Riesling estate, cultivates 35 hectares of south-facing vineyards on the 50th parallel in Germany's Rheingau region, where quartzite soils mixed with loess and loam create ideal conditions for their signature variety. Their complete spectrum of Riesling styles follows a historic capsule color classification system dating to the 1820s, with all grapes hand-harvested in multiple passes and wines fermented in both stainless steel and traditional German oak before aging in historic hillside cellars.
