Domaine Michel Lafarge is a fifth-generation family estate operating 12 hectares in Volnay and surrounding Côte de Beaune villages, producing primarily Pinot Noir wines from limestone-rich soils at 230-280 meters elevation. Their pioneering adoption of biodynamic viticulture, preservation of pre-phylloxera vines from 1894, and traditional winemaking techniques including horse-plowing and indigenous yeast fermentations have established them as one of Burgundy's benchmark producers.
