Cos d'Estournel is an Iconic Second Growth Estate situated in the Saint-Estèphe appellation of Bordeaux, France. Established in 1811 by Louis Gaspard d'Estournel, the château has a distinctive architectural style with ornate, Asian-influenced facades that reflect the founder's interest in the Orient. Cos d'Estournel is celebrated for its high-quality blends of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, which form the backbone of their wines. Its innovative approach to winemaking includes a gravity-flow cellar and precise, tailored vinification methods that contribute to its distinctive character. Throughout its history, the wines of Cos d'Estournel have been known to consistently rival those of the First Growth estates, particularly in outstanding vintages.

Cos d'Estournel, a Second Growth estate in Saint-Estèphe founded in 1811, operates 91 hectares of gravelly slopes planted primarily to Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, benefiting from the temperature-moderating effects of the nearby Gironde estuary. The estate combines traditional Bordeaux winemaking with modern precision through its gravity-flow winery, where plot-specific vinification in temperature-controlled vats and 18-month French oak aging maintain classical standards.
